Co-founders Phillip Parrish and Ashley Rosemeyer first met over 13 years ago while working together on the Sugarbush Parks crew. Phillip worked as a terrain park builder, while Ashley balanced terrain park building with her role as the park's photographer. Over the years, their careers evolved in different directions—Ashley established herself as a professional snowboard photographer, while Phillip advanced through the ranks of the Sugarbush Parks crew. Today, he serves as the park crew leader, welder/fabricator, and snowcat operator for Sugarbush Parks.

Despite pursuing different paths, Phillip and Ashley remained close friends. When Phillip began developing this vision, Ashley saw an opportunity to contribute her experience, industry relationships, and creative resources to help bring it to life. Together, they aim to strengthen the community around a place they both know and love, creating opportunities that support and celebrate the culture that has shaped them for more than a decade.

Shaping Our Future is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that empowers youth through mentorship and hands-on learning experiences in mountain operations, skilled trades, creative industries, and snowboarding in collaboration with Hoods To Woods Foundation at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont. We envision a future where young people from all backgrounds have access to the mountains, the trades, and the creative industries that shape outdoor culture

Experiences like this help show our youth that there is a real future for them in the outdoor industry. We want to continue building pathways that lead to careers, meaningful opportunities, and long-term involvement in the outdoors, so our kids can be part of it for a lifetime. That’s how real change happens, and that’s how Hoods to Woods becomes a generational organization and why we collaborate with them in this program.
